Tips On How To Succeed As a Fitness Model
A while back, I wrote an article entitled “So You Wanna Be A Fitness Model?” which covered more of the marketing and networking for those who aspire as figure and Fitness Models. The article covered in depth how to “make it” as a Fitness Model.
Since writing that article, I have had several well-known IFBB pros tell me they wished they had had such a guide when they were starting out, so if you have not read it, I suggest you do! I think this video is a nice compliment to that guide as it covers the general requirements on the competing side. No, it will not give any new info to the seasoned competitors, but for the newbie and those considering competing, it gives some good general guidelines on what the successful Fitness model has on stage.

Doing a little research. Your post helped me
Very Good Read! Looking forward to more on this subject Bookmarked the blog. Was just curious if anybody could point me to some related material. Thanks in advance.
I love rereading this article for inspiration. My only comment is: I wish this section had more input from some of your fabulous BBR mods, like markus, elissa, and others. Love to know what they think about succeeding since they’ve been in the biz for years too 😉
Sumi, that’s not really any area Elissa or Mark have experience as far as I know in terms of topics covered in this article. Elissa is a scientist in the true sense of the word- and general fitness guru in her own right, and Mark, a man of many talents, and a wealth of knowledge like few others. However, this particular area of the “business” is not – to the best of my knowledge – an area which they have much experiences. They, along with the other mods, are second to none at answering questions on all things training, nutrition, supplements, etc, etc as you well know 🙂
You’re right- they are second to none. Of course, maybe I’m hinting YOU need to write more in this section (LOL!)….right after I write about “how I gave up cardio and survived” on BBR
Well, I thought I covered the major topics of importance pretty well. Not sure what else I would add. You want me to tell you which shoes and nail polish to use? 🙂
Will you are a hoot. I’m sure as a judge you’ve probably noticed ALL the little details- and I know they matter!
All things of importance dwell in the details Sumi. However, there are some things one just has to learn on their own after getting good foundational instruction, be it exercise, business, or life. The problem is, many dwell on details before they get the macro/big picture stuff down first. That article for example, get the “big picture” stuff covered, to which people can then follow while learning the little details as they experience it. They can of course search out more details like “what color suit looks best on me when on stage during the two piece rounds?” or “do I look better as a blond of brunette in these headshots?” and so forth. These are all important questions at some point, but like the commercial says, just do it.
I recall you were supposed to be getting higher quality pics done….
this video reminds me the guy from Piano Briefs who improvises in underwear 😀
